I currently own a Compaq Presario 722US with a 1.1ghz Duron, 256mb ram, etc.. The performance is horrible. It is slow and it frequently freezes when I run demanding apps.

Should I put in more ram (can only add 128mb more) or buy a new laptop and sell mine on ebay.

I am looking at either a fujitsu c 2210 or a gateway 400s. The gateway has a dedicated video graphics processor while the fujitsu is shared. i do need to perform video editing so which should i choose?

Have you had a look at Dell? You may have had one bad experience with Compaq, but their higher performance notebooks are actually pretty good. The Dell is the best value for money notebook I know of, and there are some toshibas that might peak your interest. I wouldn't get the fujitsu over the Gateway (but then again, I wouldnt get the Gateway either).
