Comes with a copy of the manual (not the greatest manual, but hey it's
documentation that's better than nothing AND a copy of the factory
preset list)
I'm posting this here for a week or two before I take it to Ebone
because I know many folks here like these units and know what they are
all about.
The reason I am selling mine is that I found a nicer one for a fairly
good price and I don't need two of them. There is one issue with this
unit that I will detail below:
The Bad:
The LCD on this unit "bleeds" a little after it gets warmed up. It
still works fine and does not flicker but after a few hours the upper
line gets harder to read. If you are straight on to it, you can read
it fine, but higher or lower in the rack you need to move your head a
bit.
I was going to replace the LCD (and the part is available from Sony
still) but never got around to it. That Telesis place that sells LCD's
and backlights also indicated they could supply an LCD as
well...probably much cheaper than the Sony OEM version I suspect.
Condition - I'm not gonna say it's in "Near Mint" condition, but it's
not bad. I'd say 7 - 8 on a 10 scale.
The front panel is not bad at all, some rash around the rack ears but
that's generally covered by washers. There are some scratches on the
top panel but overall condition I'd describe as "good"
THE GOOD
Battery has FULL VOLTAGE, no need for a new battery, it's obviously
been replaced at some point so you are good for another 10 years or
so.
Ironically the other unit I bought needed a battery (it was totally
dead when it got to me) so it had to go back to have that taken care
of.
If you don't know about the R7 battery, it's a total PITA, you need it
for the unit to function properly, much less save edits....make sure
you get a unit with a new battery if you are in the market for an R7.
PRICE
Given the LCD issue, I'm asking $275/obo, buyer pays shipping (let's
call it a flat $15 to the lower 48 states...if you are in AK, HI, or
Canada, let's chat about shipping).
I can take Paypal, MO's, Checks once they clear, just no Nigerian Bank
funds please <g>
I plan on getting some pictures taken of the unit, it will be hard to
show the LCD bleed but I'll try.
Let me know if you want to see some pix I'll send them out to
you...and try to get them up so people can see them.
I've got good Ebay feedback (59+, all positive), my Ebay username is
gearcrafts.
Let me know if you have any interest, I'll hit RAP a few times with
this over the next two weeks to let you guys have a look, then to Ebay
after that if I get no takers.
As most of you know, these really are wonderful reverbs, and if you
can live with the LCD issue you're getting a kickass verb for the
price of a MidiVerb IV.
Thanks,

p.s. I'm in the Northern VA/DC area if somebody wants to do a local
deal and save on the shipping....I hate it when people post FS items
and then don't say where they are at.

Just for the record, I'd like to add here that I've never seen one of those
units that the LCD didn't bleed after warming up, I don't think it's just
your unit, as far as I know they all do it.

A lot of this has to do with how cramped they are in the rack. The Sony's
create a great deal of heat and have ventilation slots on the tops of the
boxes. If these slots are blocked, the faceplate becomes extremely hot
and the display begins to bleed or fade. I have three of these now under
my wing at various locations, and allowing for proper ventilation, none of
them exhibit this problem... but two of the three *did* when mounting
close enough to another unit in the rack so as to block the vents.

Thanks for the tip....right now it is in between two other units, so
maybe when the other one gets back I'll mount it above the TC M-2000
in the top of the rack. There is not a lot of air space at the top,
but still about an inch or so, maybe that will help.

None of my R7s had that problem and I had three of them, at various points.
However, the display on my D7 bleeds and it has nothing to do with warming
up, I'm afraid.
