newbie--patch basics

How does one apply a patch? I've never done it before. Please provide a
step by step detailed process. I've downloaded the 2.01 patch for
Forgotten battles to correct the stutter problem.

No. 1, make sure you download the correct patch. Then, as stated,
double click on the patch and follow the prompts. Piece of cake.
