What is "high density" memory? Does that mean all the chips are on one side?

If you're looking at SDRAM, it means it probably won't work with your chipset. Read the FAQ. The reason it's used is because it's cheaper to use half as many chips with twice the capacity per chip. Which means they made memory that was incompatable with most boards in order to save production cost.
