Any add on product options to fix faint Softphone sound quality

Hello,
I am using my plantronics head phone through my laptop. I don't know that it's only the voice quality - i honestly think people mumble and then it's even harder to understand our global workforce. I need to find a way to burst the sound - Any options? Surely there is some type of option for the hearing impaired (even though I'm not when not on my softphone)

Headsets used for IP phones normally don't produce the same quality when connected to a pc as the phones usually boost the audio signal, which your laptop cannot do.
