well, i've narrowed down my non-creative soundcard choices to the ones in the subject field. i thought about tbsc, but since i like my games as well as music/movies, i want to go with the more compatable product. so, now what i seek is advice on which of the above to get. is the external box that the gtxp offers worth double the price compared to the fortissimo? i have plenty of usb ports on the mobo and have a hub to bring them into easy access, so for movie/music, do all of the other extra features in the external box make it worth it? for reference, i have klipsch thx400 speakers (the original 4.1 set with the touchy volumn knobs). thanks for your advice.
The TBSC is a GTXP minus the breakout box. I have the GTXP and cannot say enough good things about it. I highly recommend it. I haven't heard the Fortissimo yet, but judging by its low price I would conclude that it is not up to par with the GTXP.
To start press any key. Where's the "any" key? --Homer Simpson.
GTXP 6.1 and GTXP 7.1 doesn't different much, 7.1 uses Crystal CS4624 while 6.1 uses Crystal CS4630 chip. Other then that they are basically the same. The only upside (could be downside) of GTXP 6.1 or 7.1 is the fancy looking external rack and the connectivity. If you do not need the S/PDIF input, get a Fortissimo III or DigiFire 7.1.
