Alright, well I purchased an Audigy2 Platinum, and could only install the PCI board because I dont have the space to install the 5.25" drive thing.

Now, I noticed that when I am playing MP3s through winamp, that every now and then, it will cause the MP3 to skip 3 seconds forward. Anyone experiencing this problem?

Also, are you still able to use the remote control that came with the Audigy2 even if you didn't install the 5.25" drive bay thing?

Thanks

Have Audigy2 problems too but mine are different. In XP while playing mp3 on MediaSorce Player with EAX on and then going to EAX Menu button, it throttles the CPU to 100% and locks system then after reset there is no sound but I have been able to revive it by fooling with speaker setup and then reseting EAX. Cute!!! Player really sucks when trying to record mp3's cause if you don't fill in all filename info etc immediately then you end up doing it 3 times to get filename, playlist name, and current window name to match. If not done in the right order it defaults back to the default file name which is a bunch of almost unrelated numbers. Has potential but was never finished. Went back to Spindoctor. Right now the Audigy2 Software really sucks. Oh! Don't use the Audigy Gamer with XP and the intel 850E chipset as on that change I started getting sound glitches and crashes I never had with 845D MB. Hope this keeps someone from making a mistake by thinking the Audigy2 would be better than it's predesessors.

dude you can't use the remote control unless the extra 5.25 inch drive is plugged in, although remember that drive doesn't have to be screwed into the computer case, it can just sit on top of the computer, so long as you've fed it's ribbon cable through the space in the case.

I've had skipping in Winamp too, but I think it only happens with one of my music cd's (even though it plays fine on my cd player). Are you sure it's not the mp3 file? Could be corrupt.

And yea, the Audigy 2 software sucks. They seem to hog a lot of resources, taking way too long to load and stuff. But my biggest problem with Audigy 2 is crackling. Still there after that debacle with Live! 5.1! You'd think they'd fix it by now.

Nah, it's not the file.... happened on maybe 50 different files now.
