Note: You do realise that ATA100 for a optical drive is just a marketing gimmic? ATA33 is sufficient, even for a DVD drive.

I've read the review and it seems that Asus DVD-E616 does perform a little better in data transfering. Does this has anything to do with ATA100 or Asus just make a good DVD-ROM Drive? [Lite-On still the King of DAE, cheers!]
It shouldnt really... A little with data bursts perhaps, but they are very short events.
I read though that the asus has a 512kb cache, what do the others have?
