A hardware failure is never good. It basically means it's broke. Harware failures usually aren't fixable either.

generally indicated that the system is unable for either detecting the hardware component or driver for that specific device is not located / even incompitent driver is installed. If proper driver is installed then that specific hardware would work properly.
Moreover, if every thing is in a proper place & than also states "Hardware failure" then U have to understand that the Hardware components is an open circuit.
