Weak signal from router

Hello,
I just bought a new HP Envy Laptop with Windows 8 and I only get wifi signal in one room. Any other device gets signal in all rooms. I bought a new router....same problem. Any suggestions?

Since all other devices connect, I would first have the new laptop checked out, sounds like it may be the problem, perhaps a faulty internal antenna or a buggy wireless driver.

Also, you might want to check for other interfering networks with the free tool inSSIDer ( http://www.metageek.net/support/downloads/ ) -- just run it on your laptop to see what channels are most used -- likely 1, but it will also give you comparable values for what radio signals and strengths your laptop is receiving that you can compare to your other laptops or desktops with wireless.
