I am running win 98 with 96mb ram
yamaha 16-10-40 cdrw,.
I was messing around in msconfig and when I restarted windows didn't recognize my cdrom. So I went back into msconfig and rechecked all the boxes and still no cdrom drive. My computer performance is really bogged down.
I checked my performance and I have two error messages
compatability-mode paging reduces overall performance
Drive C is using MSDOS mode compatability mode file system
I clicked details and it told me to uncheck the incorrect programs in autoexec.bat or config.sys.
How can I determine which file it is and get rid of this?
this is what is in my config.sys and autoexec.bat
config.sys
uncommon
dos=high,mb
buffers=40
device=c:\windows\himem.sys/testmem.off
device=c:\windows\emm386.exe
rem the below cdrom driver is not required to run windows 98
device=c:\cdrom\oakcdrom/D:IDECD000
autoexec.bat
crogam~/networ~1/mcafee~1\scanpm.exe C:\
@if ERRORLEVEL1 PAUSE
@echo off
path C:\windows;C:\windows\command
