My pc is connected to internet but firefox will not browse other programs do

Hello,
My pc ,seems to be working fine, google earth is functioning,updates are getting through but I cannot get Firefox to connect me to the web, It shows the Mozilla Crash reporter, which invites me to supply my email address so Mozilla may contact me. However attempting to restart Firefox, leads straight back to the crash reporter.
Does anyone have a possible solution?

uninstall firefox [all versions], clean registry, and reinstall?
