i have a P4 1.8Ghz running @ 400fsb socket 478
Gforce 4-4600
768 PC133 SDRAM
20 GB hard drive
i have a lame mobo that is capable of only SDRAM.
i'd like to upgrade my mobo so i can use DDR, but i cant afford to upgrade my processor as well. whats the best memory/mobo upgrade im looking at w/ my current processor
im thinking the Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra P4(478) Intel845PE DDR333
or
MSI 648MAXL P4(478) SIS648 FSB533 ATA133 8XAGP
i guess they both support 400fsb
im a gamer and i get a steady score of 7400 on 3DMark 2001 se
i really think my memory is bottlenecking my system cause frame rates aren't that good.

They both support FSB 400 MHz (actually 533MHz too)
Both motherboards are very good ones so take any of them.

YES that memory and motherboard is really stopping the system (like driving a car with the handbrake)

YES.
Running any pentium 4 with SDRAM is akin to driving a porsche around in only first or second gear. It really Hamstrings system performance.

Lucky for you its a socket 478, so upgrade paths are good :)
