Can't find my other setting

I just updated my router to a belkin n600 hd dual band n router. anyway i set it up one band for the "family" on 2.4 gig and my gamer on 5 gig. But the problem is none of my desktops and my latptop doesn't see the 5gig at all the only thing that picks it up is my ipad. can anyone help me?

You must insure those devices have adapters that can use the newer 5 GHz band.

Also note that using the 5GHz band is not necessarily 'better' than 2.4 GHz. For example, the higher the frequency the shorter the distance indoors, so often 2.4GHz is a better choice in a home.

ok if my computers are b/g is there anything i can do to get on that band, like adapter or something.

You will need to upgrade the wifi adapters.
