Ddns issue on IE

Hello,

My DVR the is connected and working fine internally and externally using the physical ip address I have recently added a ddns and it does point to my correct public ip address the only issue is that when I enter the ddns address in the IE address bar nothing happens more specific “page cannot be displayed” when I enter the ddns address in my iPhone it works fine on 3g or another accesses point
So I don’t understand to why it won’t work on IE browser or any other browser but it works on iPhone.
Breakdown

Trying to connect to 10.10.10.10 on IE works grate the page comes up
Trying to connect to http://tom.dny.com (10.10.10.10) on i.e. page cannot be displayed I have tried I did a net stat –an on the 10.10.10.10 address and it tells me established connection on port 9000
But when I did the same on the ddns address it shows syn_sent on port 80
So I thought I will put the address like this in IE http://tom.dny.com:9000 and still got the page cannot be displayed but when checked the net stat I had it established
I’m so confused please help

DNS only works from outside your local network. When you are inside your local network you must use the IP address and port directly.
