Setting up Technxx Wireless N Repeater 300

I am now thinking I am a complete idiot I am following the instructions in the booklet. When I get to Setting up IP address manually the booklet states-Type IP address is 192.168.10.x (x is from 2-254) Do I use any number from 2-254 or do I use my Ip address. When I have tried both options I receive a Warning message- Multiple default gateway are intended to provide redunancy to asingle network (such as intranet or the internet) They will not function properly when gateways are on two separate disjoint networks. Do you want to save this config. I then hit No.
I have seen a video on You Tube showing how to install this item and he seems to disconnct the router at this stage. Can anyone help this complete dummy. Me......

like the booklet shows use IP 192.168.10.111 with a Gateway of 192.168.10.1 while your computer is connected via ethernet cable directly to the device

for the meantime disable the wifi on that computer if you have one

Thanks for your help, I now can setup the wireless repeater without feeling a complete idiot. I do find that some instructions for computers and related accesories are not geared toward the population who are not techies. Anyway thanks again for your reply.
