ac'97 or c-media 8738

I have an ECS k7s5a mobo, with its onboard ac'97 sound controller. I also have a cmedia 8738-6ch-lx sound card.

Which one should I enable for games? I'm not sure if the onboard ac'97 is 9738 (4 channels) 9739 (6 channels). It has 3 plugs (mic, out and in), so I presume it's the 4 channel version.

I'd like to read your opinions.

From what i can see in site and from board pictures i assumed that onboard sound is not from C-media. But if it is Cm973x use it.

I used the mb's CD-ROm and installed the 9738 driver. It's 4 channel, but what the heck is AC'97 anyway?
