When start Thinkpad Edge with Windows 7 and the Seagate gofelx - Thinkpad does not start I must disconnect the UBS and restart - then plug the UBS to access the drive. Doe I need to format something to have Windows read teh Seagate drive?
Something definitely is amiss here. The device should be recognized. Have you looked for errors in device manager and event viewer ?
Here is a link to a "Thinkpad" Forum. I see a post there with the same problem, but yet is unanswered. You may want to register with that forum and also post your problem, or keep tabs on the post already there.http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewforum.php?f=60
