How to get a repeater

Hello,
where shall I get a repeater or a booster or expender, what is the different among all these theree products?

They are all the same thing mostly. Almost all take the signal in and retransmit a copy of it out. The exception are amplifiers which are the ones most commonly called booster. This uses a radio method of increasing the signal strength. Unlike the other devices which actually process the messages as data and correct errors a amplifier just increases the signal strength. Amplifiers only work in a very controlled environment since they increase the noise and interference levels along with the good signal.

Use these only as a last resort where you cannot use another solution. Any form of cabled solution is better etherent,powerline,tv-coax.

The key to effective use of a repeater is to place it where it can get good signal from the main router and can still prove acceptable signal to the end device. Mostly someplace right in the middle. Do not expect this to be a magic solution there are many downsides to using a repeater.
