Gigabit onboard card not really a gigabit??

I have an HP Compaq 6005 PRO MT with an onboard gigabit nic. Having lots of slow connectivity issues across my gigabit network with this machine. Went to change the Speed / Duplex to run at 1000, but found only options were for 10 or 100. All latest drivers installed. Have not found a reason, other than they put in the wrong onboard nic. Anyone come across this? And is the only solution to get a pci nic?

Try this site and see if it helps. You may be able to get better results by loading the driver from the chipset manufacture
