I have a new V180 and have used the Motorola software to send MP3s as
ringtones and it works.

But I have one file that will not play. I can a 'file is corrupt' when I try
and play it. The MP3 is the sound from the TV series 'Emergency' when a
multiple alarm sounded in the firehouse.

If anyone wants to try it, email me, and I will send it to you. All I ask is
you send it back if you get it to work.

I don't have a v180 so I can't help you specifically, but a few things
to look out for are most phones have a requirement for bitrate,
maximum size, and length. Perhaps the Emergency file is too short? Too
low or high a bitrate? too large?

Just some ideas...

Try converting it to a lower bit rate (28 or 30 kHz) and you'll probably
have better luck.

I had to same problems, it was because I saved a wav file to an mp3
without the proper codec. Upload it to the group and I'll fix it for
you.

32K bitrate
22K sample rate
done using RazorLame software.
Worked fine.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Anyone wants the two files (mp3 and WAV) email me.
If you're under 40, it would be a meaningless sound.

No, chances are the server won't accept it, or it won't make it to
