Create Hotspot with a router

I have a very generous neighgbour and unfortunately his wifi only reaches my computer, and not my phone. I have done the following with a Vista machine:
Connect to wireless network > connect router to computer via ethernet cable > Viola, hotspot!
However, in Win7 is this possible? It sees the router as "unidentified public network" and I can't change it. Any registry setting I can change to set the default network connection to "home"? Or anything like that?

  1. You need to enable Internet Connection Sharing (or whatever MS renamed it to in Win7).
  2. Yeah, did that. Can't share on public networks.
  3. Juat Use MHotspot Softwre to create a Hotspot. Everything Will be fine.
