I am building a new computer and have pretty much decided on the Antec Plus 660 AMG. It has a 320W power supply. Will this power supply support brand new components such as the radeon 9700 pro, 2 hard drives, pentium 4, etc...Do I need to go for a bigger PSU? Thanks!

I was wondering a similar thing I have a regular system 1 HD ,CDRW regular CD drive floppy sound card Vid card etc XP 1700+ gf3 ti 200 and a cheapo generic PSU. Was wondering what PSU I can get that will last me say 5 years and can handle the much more powerfull Cpu's and Vid cards of the future! Will a 350 w PSU likely be enoughh or say a 430 PSU??...THANKS.

Didn't anybody read the power supply review here? The best 300-350W units can probably power anything, while others fall far short.

Well what I mean is with the new more powerfull cpu's and Vid cards coming out in the next few years what PSU will give me enough headroom to handle it?? I was thinking of a 420 watt Thermaltake PSU. PS I read the article doesn't answer my question though.

Personally I think to be on the safe side and to future proof a bit you should lookk at something at least in the 400 w range.

If it is a decent Antec one it will probably be enough if you don't place more power eating things inside your case (like a douzen of fans).

My CPU runs so hot the arctic silver undergoes nuclear fusion  .

I thought that it came with a 330 Watt Power Supply... and it comes with their 'True Power' line, which is their best. It should handle everything right now just fine up to 2 HD's.

I had a question myself about how it would do with 3 7200rpm HD's, ATI Radeon Pro, Athlon 3000+ (future upgrade). I was looking to get the Antec TruePower 430, but I can't find a good minitower case that comes with it. I don't want a server tower and I can't find a good minitower case that ships without a power supply. If I get a cheap power supply to swap it out, it ends up being a cheap case. The best I found was the case you mentioned, but was still unsure about the 330W power rating. I still think that if you don't plan on having more than 2 HD's, you should be fine.
