I struggled with this for several days, so I hope this saves others
problems.

If you want to use a V600i with Mobile Phone Tools, do NOT do a live
update after installing the copy that came with your phone. It seems
that the phone only works with 3.11 and 3.19 actually changes some
settings on the phone. After I got it working I verified this by
plugging the phone into a computer with 3.19 installed and sure
enough, it not only didn't work on that computer, but it ALSO quit
working on the one with 3.11 installed.

If this happens to correct it you can simply do a master reset on the
telephone and then it should work just fine with 3.11.

I hope this saves someone all the troubles I have gone through to get
this to work. It is great now since my V600i, V66 and old Timeport
280, (I have several SIM cards for different countries) all work and
can be synchronized.

How safe is "Master Reset"?
"Master Clear" wipes out your phonebook among other data.
Does "Master Reset" have equally widespread and destructive effects?

The Master Reset seems to do very little. It resets your wallpaper to
the original and puts the main menu back to the default, but it leaves
your phonebook including custum ringtowns, pictures etc. all like you
had them. It takes no more than a couple minutes to get things back
like you had them after a master reset. Good warning though. DO NOT
hit Master Clear by mistake or you will be sorry.
