Ha ha ha ha thats not your virtual memory setting, that is telling you how much is available to utilize. The numbers just below that are your indicators. try to aim for a min / max 256 mb's. Any more is over kill. And may i ask just how you have managed to fill 50 gigabytes on your drive?!? I have a 20 gig and I barely use 3 gigs on it. i will never buy more then a 30 gig drive, unless they just dont sell or make them any more.

what is your virtual memory swap file set to?
if in fact you only have 3 gigs used, then your os is not reading your hdd capacity correctly. Check in your bios that your drive is on auto recognize, and is being displayed properly.

other then that, if it still says you only have 10 gigs left, then you either have a defctive drive, or they sold you a smaller drive then what they advertised.

Go in to my computer, and click once on the C: drive icon. That will display the usage of the space of the drive. See what that says. let me know.

Good luck

Hi Wilko

When was the last time you went through, cleaned up, deleted all the old junk and defragged your hdd.

the blue screens might have to do with a ram fault, but would not affect your virtuAl memory being shown incorrectly.

You state the capacity and used space on your drive, but the figures do not add up. (???)

57.2 - 4.3 does not = 53.2

Maybe I am missing something.
You still have not informed me as to what your min / max virtual memory setting is set to...
it would possible help knowing this.
By the way , that line stating VIRTUAL MEMORY SWAP FILE: C:\-11047mb FREE .... that is how much space is on your drive available to create a swap file out of. So, effectively, you have 11 gigs left of hdd space.

Hi.

Alright, quit all this mumbo-jumbo. Go to performance>virtual memory and set the min and max at 250. Yes that's Two-Five-Zero. Apply. Ok. Windows will tell you your crazy and then go ahead and reboot. Forget about the rest of the addition and subtraction, take a big hit on the pipe and go do whatever you do. That's my opinion. I may be right.

Well , first , disable windows control of virtual memory. choose "manage my own virtual memory"

then set it to 256 min / 256 max.

but as for only having 10 gigs left, there is something not right there.
