Update BIOS And Chipset Driver - How To

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer and select your computer model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should have the option to download drivers and BIOS for your model. If there is a newer version available download the BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS of your computer - every computer is different so I can't give you exact directions. While updating the BIOS do not unplug or turn off your computer. You should also update the chipset driver if possible.

Adam196055,

Prior to migrating to Windows 7 from Windows XP did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor?
To determine if your current computer configuration will be compatible with Windows 7 please go to the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-...

Another resource to verify compatibility is available at the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center located at the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-...

If the drive is showing up, reading discs, and the only problem you are having is burning, make sure burning is enabled on the drive. Right click on the drive, and go to properties. There you can enable burning.
