After asking my "dumb" question, I realize that I need to be more direct
to get the answers I need.

I am not a pro sound guy, I know just enough to be dangerous !

The venue, 7500 sq foot room ( +/- ) 60' X 125' (not including stage)

Stage 30' wide in about the center of a 125' side (about 20' deep)

The equipment we DO have;

Mackie CFX-20 mixer
Behringer Feedback destroyer DSP 1124P
3 - Audio-Technica ATW-1127 UniPak Body-pack System
1 - Shure wireless Handheld (older model, diversity rec, works well)
various wired mics - 6 lines from stage to sound booth

a bunch of Radio Trash wireless junk, not used

1 Bogan 35 watt amp into 10 8-inch ceiling mounted speakers

The equipment I think we need
(has to be done for as little money as possible and
most likely in stages)

1 set (pair ? ) of house speakers (2-way?)
1 house amp

2 or 3 Floor Monitors and amp (stage two)

What I was looking at -

a pair of Legion Sound L15 (350 Watt each)
and a Legion Sound LSA1200 total, including shipping < $650

looking for "bang for the buck" http://store.steelsound.com/

my "other" option, a local store
( no shipping and a "counter to pound on" )

2- Pevey PR-115 speakers and a Mackie Tapco J•1400 Total < $800.00

Oh, and what are we doing with this ??

Small theatrical type performances , "old people" music - dances.

I plan to use the overhead speakers and amp (old system) via an aux send
for background music ( CD's) during dinners and the sort.

Any thoughts , comments ? (sorry this got so long)

my real e-mail address - remove both x's

Thanks
