Decrease data transfer

It may sound odd but i want to know if there is any way to decrease the amount of data transferred during browsing.
I use firefox as a default browser and my screen resolution is 1080p.

I know that less amount of data is required to display the same page on mobile than on a desktop.

Is there any way or any browser to make that happen on a desktop as well?

If your goal is to use less data while browsing the Internet than you will need to use a browser that has a plugin that allows you to change the browser user agent string to fool the server into thinking you are using a mobile device.

All popular browsers have web developer plugins to do this; it is a very common practice for testing web pages.
