We have 2 v551 phones and no bluetooth adapter for the PC (at the
moment).

Is it possible to get the 2 phones to transfer files between them
there own blue'teeth'? What do I need to do?

I'm not sure what I want to do with this setup but things like sharing
ringtones and pictures without needing a PC or sending them via
phone-mail come to mind.

I figured it out. It can be done and its rather easy. If anyone
wants to know how to do it, ask here and I will post it.

Please post it.
I partially figured it out, but did not know what ID to put in.

I tried to use the COPY feature to send to another 551, but then one
asked for the other's Bluetooth ID and I didn't know what to enter.

Thanks

once you select COPY the next screen I get is OBJECT EXCHANGE. The
choices are connections you have connected with previously and [Look
For Devices] If this is a new, first time connection you need to
select Look for Devices. The other phone must be set in discoverable
mode.

settings - connection - bluetooth link - setup - find me

The phone will remain discoverable for 60 seconds. While the second
phone is discoverable, do the "Look For Devices" from the Object
Exchange menu. It will scan for other bluetooths and let you pick
from a list. You only need to do this the first time. After that,
the second phone will show in the Object Exchange screen as one of the
choices.

Hope that helps

When I tried this once before, the phone asked me to enter the code
for the other phone.
You didn't have to enter a code?

If you have paired the phones previously you shouldn't have to enter the
code. If it asks for the code simply plug in any 4 digit number you like.
The other phone should then prompt for a code and use the same number.

Nope. It didn't ask me for a code. Are both phones you're doing this
with v551s? v551s are the only ones I have played with so far.

Did what Tony's suggestion work; enter in any set of #s?

I just tried it today, and it worked well. No code required. I must
have done it differently last time.

Thanks

Can't you just go to the pic/tone you want and hit the middle button, go to
move and have it locate the other V551?
You can't trransfer games to another cell though.

Or you can go to copy instead of move so the pic/tone ends up on both.
You'll then need to put the other 551 into the mode to be discovered, then
accept the copy/transfer.

Unless you have it setup with a USB connection, you don't need the software.
