Hi, I am trying to find out the availability of a router which will allow multiple connections, each with their own username and password and the ability for an administrator to control access. Does anyone know of any or any company/website that could give some advice? Thanks

Since this is in the wireless forum I will guess you mean wireless router.

This is a standard feature for many routers. It is part of wpa/wpa2. You need to run in enterprise mode. To make this work you need a radius server and there are number of free ones.

Not sure a router itself could do that. It is either done as part of the 802.1x negotiation..(ie radius) or it done with a firewall feature that will intercept traffic and cause a web page to be displayed...like a hotel uses. Still I don't know of a router that can do this on its own without a server to do the hard work.

If you want a hack you could get a router that lets you put in lots of SSID and assign a unique one to each user and the password would be your preshared key for that ssid.
