OK- after scanning THG for a year- I think I am ready to build my first system. I have just ordered a Asus P4PE and a 2.4. The memory question is killing me- Do I need 400 or will 333 be good enough? I don't plan on OC from the start but once I get it up and running -who knows? Which is the best kind? Any conflicts that ya'll know of? Also any links to good How-to pages will be appreciated. Thanks, A.

With the pentium 4, the faster memory you can get the better.
See if you can get some PC3200 Cas2 ram... if not, go for PC2700 Cas2.
Generally go for name brand ram.
Kingston, crucial, corsair, micron etc.

The only conflicts i can think of is ram runnign too fast and crashing/giving you problems.
The free program MEMTEST86 is good for testing your ram.

also, if your a gamer, 512mb is considered normal nowerdays.
