i quick formated one of my hard drives by accident. i need some very important files in it. can anyone help?

Your probably gonna have to get a 3rd party program to recover that for you. I think PowerQuest makes something that will do this.

Although i think in DOS there was an unformat command but i'm not sure if that's still in windows.

if you only did a quick format on it, and havnt touched it since, the dos UNFORMAT may work for you, if not, lost & found or ontracks recovery is needed.
