What is the difference?

What is the difference between Dvd-R drives and Dvd+R drives? I heard next year the Dvd+R drives will be available but I havent read anywhere what the difference is from the Dvd-R drives.
Please help me!

BTW, Sony now has a DVD+-R/RW, so it does them all (except maybe DVD-RAM, I don't know about that one). DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW & DVD+RW .
