Hello,

In my 551, selecting Office Tools -> SIM Applications results
in the message: "SIM Applications not available".

1) What are SIM Applications?
2) How do I make them "available"?

Thanks,

I assume this reference is to additional code on the SIM that some
providers use for specific tasks ... like downloading WAP settings,
accessing additional phone books, adding value to prepaid accounts,
making purchases, accessing bank accounts, and the like. Usually this
appears as a separate item on the phone's menu, which usually bears the
name of the carrier in the title. Perhaps, then, this SIM APPLICATIONS
entry is a placeholder for such a menu item.

The only way to "make them available" is to insert a SIM from a cellular
carrier that has implemented such functions and coded them into their SIM.
