Hi guys, so I have a 3ds and have some old ds games I wanna play online with and/or download additional content e.g. Professor Layton and the Curious Village. However due to a failure on the part of my service provider, I have no wireless and cannot change the modem router that I currently have (On the plus side my internet is absolutely free!). I have been content with running Ethernet cables EVERYWHERE, however I have run into a slight snafu. With all my other wireless devices I have been able to use Connectify to create a wireless hotspot, but the ds (or 3ds running older ds games) cannot connect to a WPA network. Unfortunately, while Connectify can broadcast WEP, it is adhoc and ds's aren't compatible with it.
After a bit of research I bought a cheap D-link wireless adapter (DWA-125) to try and use as a software access point to transmit a non adhoc WEP network. However, while i can bridge my LAN and the wireless adapter, the adapter remains as "not connected" and therefore refuses to create the desired WEP network.
Am I doing something wrong?
Do I need a different wireless adapter? (noticed the TP-Link one [http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=220] but did not want to risk it as I cannot find a store that sells them and allows refunds)
Please, if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated as I am reading web page after web page and getting nowhere.
