Why os selection does not show win 7 but only xp

hello,
I just installed win xp though i also have win 7 in separate drive...and my problem is that i have not been able to log on to win 7 after installing xp....because os selection does not show win 7 but only win xp....
plz u got to help me...

If you did not setup a dual boot, Last OS installed will take effect.

Installing WinXP replaced the Win7 bootloader with the WinXP bootloader.

Do a 'Repair' with your Win7 installation DVD and you'll fix the problem.
And you'll end up having a dual boot option with WinXP.

If you don't have a Win7 install disc you can still fix the Win7 bootloader using EasyBCD.

Look under Option Two: When Windows 7 is Installed First

Check Step 8:

8. Run EasyBCD (free version).
NOTE: This is required to repair the Windows 7 boot file and add XP to the Windows Boot Manager list.
