I'm currently using a Viewsonic GS771 that I bought 5-6 years ago. I upgraded to a new computer from my p/// 450mhz in August, but I didn't get a new monitor. Now I finally have some moneys and it is time to get a new screen. I was thinking CRT because it is super cheap and high quality. But I don't have a lot of desk room and LCD seems to be the wave of the future so I'm starting to lean that way some more. I'm looking for a monitor that is about as big as a 19" CRT and runs at 1280x1024. DVI would also be good. I'm looking for the best value here. Something that is not a ridiculous amount of money, but also something that isn't a piece of junk. I've looked at some like the Viewsonic vp191b, the 172x and some of those hercules ones. I heard though that hercules wasn't making monitors anymore so my choices may be more limited. Keep in mind I'll be buying this possibly a month or a little over a month from now, so if something is coming out soon, or if something out now will drop in price that will be good.
