I have both a V60i and V710. Their wall plugs have similar voltage and
milliamperage putputs (same voltage, 100 milliampere difference). The male
plugs that go into the phones are identical. Are the pins for each wall
plug the same so that the V60i wall plug can be used on the V710?

on ebay vendors sell power supplies that include both models in their
descriptions so i assume the answer is yes. also, my daughter is using her
v60 charger stuff on her new v710

I also have both a v60i and v710. The chargers are interchangable, even
though the newer v710 comes with a compact size unit. They both operate in
concert with the smart circuits in the phone and battery. They will both
charge rapidly when possible and then safely trickle-charge when the
batterey is full.
The two phones use the same power/feature connector. You can use the same
cable with Susteen DataPilot and even use accessories meant for the V60i.
But you cannot use the v60 desktop charge cradle for the v710, because the
phone is wider. In fact, you cannot even charge a spare battery in the rear
slot, because the newer v710 uses a new battery format with recessed
contacts along the longer side.
Incidentally, Motorola makes a neat splitter cord for the V710 that lets you
charge both the phone and a headset with just one charger. But you cannot
hook both heads to phones. The charger cannot supply enought current to do
this. That's a pitty. A better design would be to charge them in serial
fashion - one and then the other. In fact, that's how the stand-up charge
cradles handle multiple batteries. They charge the one in the phone and then
when it is full, they charge the spare battery.
