Hey, I'm going to build myself a new computer with a ASUS A7N8X mobo, 2 x 256 mb DDR400, and a Radeon 9700 pro in it. The case that i'm buying has a 350 watt power supply. I was wondering is that enough power for my system?
Well, I'm going to have 2 DVD/CD drives and 2 harddrives in the case. Plus the 9700 pro is a power sucker. Is the 350 watt power supply still enough? Even if i want to overclock the 2800+, is the 350 ps sufficient?
Without OC I think it will be enough. But when you start OC'ing it could be that you need a better one. You just have to try to see if it supplies enough power when you start OC'ing a bit.
My PC eats so much money that I'm in 'desperate' need of it to buy PC3500 RAM, help Svol with his OC project!
--- PM me for information.
350W should be sufficient, provided its a quality brand like Antec, Toptower or Enermax.
Though you may need more for really extreeme overclocking. (unlikely though)

[LHGPooBaa] I get phasechange whenever i eat a hot chillie
if you play on upgrading certain parts, that might need more power... then i'd save yourself the trouble and just go with a 431w Enermax for safekeeping
