You can upload games easily using Bluetooth. See
http://brobin111.blogspot.com for details.

Right. If you want to keep screwing around with it stick with the USB.
When that wears thin and you want to easily upload games without the
hassle, use Bluetooth. You can get a BT dongle for your PC on ebay for
under $20 and spend your time playing games instead of ditzing around
with a cable and software.

See my blog for detailed instructions. It's a simple setup - just follow
the instructions exactly as written.

BruceR -
I've been following this string becuase I'm having the same problem -
my computer won't find my Motorola V551 using Bluetooth. I tried the
instructions in your blog but when I tried to download the install
files from mobidick.biz, the zip file only had two files in it - a
video file of some random nonsense and a text file saying "Sorry, the
mac-address of your device is not Moibidick like.

If you like to download the driver Widcomm 4, please read your licence
agreement at first.
Please remember that Widcomm is the trade mark of Broadcom corp.

www.mobidick.biz"

I tried going back to jonsguide.com where you said you originally got
the instructions and can't find the page anymore.

Any ideas? Any help on how to get everything installed and working
now?
Thanks!

Did you go here? http://www.mobidick.biz/downloads.shtml
If that's what you did and it doesn't work let me know. Except for the
jonsguide page all the files are at the URLs listed so those are OK.
Did you make the changes per the instructions?

What software did your dongle come with? If it is any version of the
Widcom software you can just do that.

Thanks for the quick reply Bruce. I did get it to work by going to
mobidick.biz/downloads.shtml (the name of the download had changed to
an executable ZIP file.)

Now I'm trying ot get MPT to work with it so I can sync my Outlook
contacts with my phone (supposedly easier than reprogramming in 400
entries,) but the setup wizard fails when trying to pair with the V551.
Before it would never discover it, now it discovers it, asks for the
passkey, accepts that successfully, goes to installing device screen
and then pops up and says "Comm port Installation failed." and returns
back to the "Discovered devices" page.

This is driving me nuts. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

For MPT connection I've had the same thing happen with my v3. It's very
iffy. However, if you use the USB cable it will work fine. I think that
MPT may prefer the Microsoft BT driver.
