On newegg.com, i wanted to buy my Liteon Cd-RW, but when i went there, there were a bunch of the 48X ones.. don't know the difference between each..
i wanna get the Latest and greatest Lite-on cd-rw.. im guessing it's the 52X one? the Retail version..

This Community is like a Second Family!!

my bro has the lite on 48x24x48x cd writer and we just tested it and it copied 2 full size cd's in under 6 minutes!

Life is irrelivent and irrational.

the lite on 48246s is the best value you can OC it to 52x24x52 as it is the same exact drive with a different firmware.. look at the lite on forum here for exact and explicit directions for doing this.. you will save a few bucks over tyhe 52x this way if you are queasy about flashing it to a different firmware then the decision is whether or not a several second differential in burn time is worth 15 bux either way you go you win imo

Depends what you want...
Bear in mind that if you get a liteon that does 24x rewriting you are in for a VERY hard time finding CR-RW disks that can do 24x rewriting. I aint found ANY in australia yet.

So the cheapest option would be to go for the 48x12x48x...

And besides, they are upgradeable anyway.
the 48x12x48x can be flashed to a 48x24x48x, and the 48x24x48x can be flashed to 52x24x52x or maybe even 52x32x52x when the firmware is available!

P.S. i have a 48x24x48x running at 52x speeds with no problems.
