I have bought a Hynix PC2100 CL2 DDR from my friend yesterday. He used it for 4 months. I got it at the half price of a new module. Now I am running it in my MSI K7N420 Pro mobo. The other Kingston(Nanya) PC2100 CL2.5 DDR has no problem with the Hynix one. Both run well at 2.0-2-2-6 in 128 bit mode. My system is rock stable as usual. I have played "buggy" GTA3 with new Kingston/Hynix combo for one hour, without zero slowdowns. They passed Memtest, too. Who tells there may be problem with two different brand memory modules..........

LOL

This info is from Sandra
Logical/Chipset Memory Banks
Bank 1 Setting : 128MB DDR-SDRAM 7-1-1-1R 5-1-1-1W 2.0-2-2CL
Bank 2 Setting : 128MB DDR-SDRAM 7-1-1-1R 5-1-1-1W 2.0-2-2CL
Shared Memory : 16MB
Independent Memory Channels : 2
Bank Interleave : 2-way
Power Down Mode : No
Fixed Hole Present : No

Memory Modules
Memory Module 1 : Kingston KVR266X64C25128 430A4B00 128MB 8x(16Mx8) DDR-SDRAM PC2100U-2533-750 (CL2.5 upto 133MHz) (CL2 upto 100MHz)
Memory Module 3 : 128MB 8x(16Mx8) DDR-SDRAM PC2100U-233-752 (CL2.5 upto 143MHz) (CL2 upto 133MHz)
Doesn't it look like that my "new" memory module is a generic one? Unlike my Kingston one, it had no sticker on it with brand name and specs. The chips of the "new" module is Hynix

What's the difference between 2 way and 4 way bank interleave?

You haven't answered my question yet. Is my "new" module a generic one?

I used 3 generic SDRAM modules w/ Hynix chip before, none of them produced trouble in my former Gigabyte GA-5AA mobo.

lol I also have been blessed by the leprechauns of memory. I bought me a stick of ocz ram...yes ocz lol. it is runs at 203mhz at cas 2 perfectly stable in memtest though it was only rated at 200mhz at cas 2.5...and it is ocz! lol I can not run it at that speed in my setup, my ram can not be clocked higher than 166mhz without raising my fsb higher than 166mhz dirty little 8k3a... I wish there was a way to adjust my memory speed seperatly from my cpu at higher speeds than 166mhz, does anyone know of any tweaked bioses or any way to do this?

smurf A- I saw you leave with smurfette
smurf B- oh man as soon as we got out of the bar she started smurfing me
smurf A- shut the smurf up
