These are unbalanced stereo dbx compressors from the 70's. They work well on
Mackie, Ghost, Allen & Heath inserts as they are also unbalanced.
The 117 is the only one of these old beasts with a release switch (NORM/SLOW)
The slow release setting can be useful on drum subs and loops as long as you
don't want drums to sound like drums.
