Having trouble getting this DMX-6 Fire to work in Windows 2000. Heard there is a patch if your processor is over 2Ghz. Anyone know where I can get it? Also, if anyone has had success in getting this card to work in Win2k, please email me. I would like to use this card for digital music production/recording, but if it doesn't work, I'll have to return it. fostex support sucks. thanks, Ron

I haven't heard of that problem before, but Terratec does have the latest drivers and a fimware upgrade on their site. I'll see if I can find anything else.

Hey Jarrett...thanks for the info. After a lot of PC wrangling, I got part of the card to work. The install was not a clean process though...reminded me of an old Mediatrix card I once had.
With CD-audio and MIDI files I hear a lot of noise....pops, scratches and a tapping sound with a little echo. Wondering if this is just revealing slight imperfections in the CD or is something else wrong? Internet radio sounds great. Also, do you know if there is an add-on card I can get for effects? Not sure I'm going to keep this card...too much hassle. If I ever have to reload Win2k I get to do this all over again. :>( If Creative would fix their ASIO drivers to record at 24/96 I'd stick with the Audigy 2 Platinum. Creative is being pretty tight lipped about this...no response so far. Cheers, Ron

Last I knew, the Creative is going to release the ASIO drivers with the Audigy 2 Platinum EX. They'll probably hold off the Platinum upgrade to see how the EX sells and then release the drivers for upgrade.

As for the add-on boards and stuff, I'm not that up on the card. You'll have to check the website, which may have more info on the problems your having. I'm using MOTU, so I really can't get deep into the card.
