My wife Carole and I just purchased 2 V551 phones. I was setting them
up and exploring the features. We like to exchange phone numbers, and
were used to doing this effortlessly via IR with our old Nokias. We
learned that these phones use B/T and I was able to use Bluetooth to
transfer numbers successfully from "Carole's Fone" to "Alan's Fone".
But when "Alan's Fone" tries to send a phone number to Carole, it can't
find the device. Alan's shows "Carole's Fone" in the device list, but
can't connect to it, yet it works fine the other way. Anybody know why?

Maybe Carole's Fone bluetooth is not turned on. When sending, it will turn
on temporarily.
