I just wanted to know if anyone can tell me what fatal exception OD at 0147:00005ed pertains to. It comes up on the blue screen o' death when I try to install certain (not all) things from cd. It seems to come up when the setup wizard boots. I am running windows 98se. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody have any JuMpEr CaBleS?

I have a really crappy rounded ide (dual device) for my two rom drives ...... could that be the problem? Or is there some kind of post test that checks the functionality of the cable before booting the os?
