Hi, I live in the UK, and am thinking about buying some mics and pre's in
the not too distant future, I'm not looking to spend mega-bucks it's only
for my small Pro Tools LE setup.
Given the very favourable exchange rate at the moment I was thinking even
with the postage and import charges it could be cheaper to buy from the US.
However being in the UK I don't see any US advertising, so don't actually
know of any on-line stores! The only one I can remember from visits to the
US is Guitar Centre, but they don't seem to have an online store.

Thanks,
Pete.

Watch out for the additional tariffs which the EU has been imposing on many
goods imported from the US, which is I believe adding an additional 15% to
the cost of imported audiovisual gear. Apparently, the EU has announced that
these are now to be suspended but someone on the Sound on Sound forum was
grumbling just a couple of days ago about being stung by them.

Actually they do. It's called Musician's Friend, at the obvious web
site. But given that you don't seem to have a clear idea as to what
you want to buy (or maybe you do and you just didn't let on) you might
prefer a shop such as Full Compass Systems that specializes in pro
audio gear, or a smaller, more boutique style dealer who can give you
some really good advice like Mercenary Audio.
