If you are using a different computer, and the same ISP, you don't have to transfer the emails. You will have to logon to your email account using the new computer, , and the emails will be on the ISP's server.

You logged onto the computer. Did you start email client, and logon to it ?

ISP means the Internet Service Provider.

And yes, you can retrieve all you old email that were in the old pc.
For that you will need to go to the users Data directory where the emails were stored and copy them onto the new PC in the location where the email clients data is stored.
For example:
Outlook Express
This client stores it's users emails if they were configured into the Microsoft Outlook program to:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\

Just copy the contents of this folder to the same location in the new pc and it'll work.
