Computer lagging

I'm not real sure what is causing my lag problems; whether it's memory, video etc.

When I'm online and viewing numerous sites after awhile I start to lag really bad. It becomes very difficult to move the mouse, load pages, change windows etc. It will also affect my OS; if I close Internet Explorer and just try to open files. This also happens when I try to open a few programs and work for a while. I have updated my video and sound drivers. I am running Maxmem and it says that I have around 360MB free when this happens.

My system:

Asus A7V133 Motherboard w/ audio (disabled)
Thunderbird AMD 1.2
640MB SDRAM PC133
Soundblaster Live Value (SB Live ME Drivers)
GeForce 2 GTS 64MB DDR Video (30.82 Nvidia drivers)
Netgear FA310TX Network card
C: Seagate 6.4 Hard drive (os drive)
D: WD 15 Hard drive (formatted, no os)
Windows ME OS (fully updated, I can't upgrade at this time)

I'll be glad to give any more information if needed. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
Gwendri

First updates your anti-virus and scan the complete HD.

If anything is going found, then do one downgrade of your drivers that received upgrade.

And post the results here.
