I'm trying to replace my JVC headphones but it's been a few years
since I've bought a pair so I was hoping I could get some help and
recommendations. None of the stores in my area have much of any
selection to speak of, so I'm probably going to be ordering from the
web and some sense of direction would be helpful so I don't waste my
money on a bad choice.
I've used JVC model HA-D810 digital ready, full-size headphones for
about 5 or 6 years for recording/mixing with a digital 8-track and
also just listening to music or watching movies. They're not high-end
or anything but a good all-purpose model that sounded great and were
very comfortable. I also liked the single, straight heavy-duty chord.
I think I spent about $40 or $50 for them but can't remember exactly.
They still work but the actual cradle for the speaker has broken and
no amount of superglue or duct tape will fix it.
Since no one seems to sell this particular model anymore, is there a
current JVC model of full-size headphones that is comparable?
Or, are there other brands that I should be looking at that are far
and away better for the uses mentioned above? I don't need anything
super-fancy, just something full-size, sturdy, and with a single
straight chord. I'm looking to spend in the $50 to $100 range.
